Les Miserables Auditions

We are excited to bring Les Miserables back to the Clayton Center since we were unable to perform in 2020.  Actors must be between ages 8-18 on July 30, 2022 to be considered.  Please submit your vocal video audition to broadwaycenterforthearts@gmail.com and include “Les Mis Audition” in the subject of the email or transfer link.  Video submissions are due by midnight on April 12th.  Also, please include the audition form information below and a headshot if available.  

Video record around 60 seconds of a song from a musical.  Your song can be (but does not have to be) from “Les Miserables.”  Video record closeup, with non-lyric music in the background. No acapella songs will be accepted.   If you have any questions about the audition, please email us. Additional monologue auditions are not necessary for this production.  Call backs will be from 5-9pm on April 17th (only if needed).   

Because we are returning this production from the cancellation of our 2020 season, the following roles have been retained:  

Jean ValJean, Javert, Marius, Fantine, Gavroche, Eponine, and Joly.  

The production has more than 2 hours of incredible characters and challengingly beautiful music! This isn’t the complete list, but we are looking to fill the following roles:  Cosette, Madame Thenardiere, Thenardier, Foreman, Bamatabois, Fauchelevant, Little Cosette, Bishop, Enjolras, Combeferre, Courefeyrac, Students, Factory Worker Soloists, Revolutionary Soloists, Chain Gang Soloists, Wedding Guests, etc…  

Rehearsals will be in Maryville from July 5-27, Monday through Friday from 6-9pm with additional rehearsals as needed.  Load-in and long rehearsal will be on July 28, and then rehearsal and performance July 29, and 2 performances on July 30.  This is a very tight rehearsal schedule so you MUST be at rehearsal when called.  Please note that we may accept one, or possibly two scheduled absences from rehearsals,  but actors will need to plan on being at every rehearsal for this challenging show.  Pre-preparation, practice outside of rehearsal, memorization of lines in advance, and dedication will be key for this show’s success.  Primary roles may be replaced with understudies if actors are not prepared.
